Danny Davis was raised in Billings and graduated from The University of Montana in May of 2007. Two weeks after graduation, he began an internship at the Austin American-Statesman and has been there ever since.
Emily graduated from The University of Montana School of Journalism as a University Scholar with a bachelor’s degree in journalism in May 2012. Emily has been awarded multiple scholarships and awards for her academic excellence and her skills in the field of journalism, including three student Emmy Awards.
Jayme Fraser is a Hearst Journalism Fellow at the Houston Chronicle. The Wyoming-born journalist combines people-focused narratives with investigative reporting to evaluate social and political issues.
The University of Montana helped Jenny prepare for her career in so many ways. She appreciated the hands-on, intimate learning. The skills she formed helped her immediately succeed at her first job because of strong technical and writing skills. She felt so much better prepared than most of her peers.
Nate Schweber didn’t become a journalist at the University of Montana. He was a journalist. Every weekday morning Schweber reported for duty at The Montana Kaimin, the student newspaper. As a reporter, he wrote an average of two or three stories per day, four days a week. Fridays were for staff meetings to discuss the week ahead. This wasn’t theoretical journalism. It was real journalism. There were story ideas to generate, newsholes to fill, editors to satisfy and deadlines to meet.
Photographer and filmmaker Thomas Nybo has worked in more than 70 countries for CNN, The New York Times, UNICEF, PBS FRONTLINE/World and other clients. He was an embedded CNN war correspondent in Iraq, and reported for CNN from Ground Zero the week of September 11th.
