Advising

Students must meet with an adviser at least once a semester to plan their courses for the following semester, but most journalism students see their advisers far more often.

When you meet your adviser for the first time, he or she will review which classes you should take to get ready to apply for the professional journalism program. In subsequent meetings, you should make sure you look through the class offerings and work out a tentative schedule before your advising appointment. Advisers will answer questions and make sure you're on the right track, but you must determine your own set of classes. Please bring an unofficial transcript from Cyberbear to advising meetings.
